I try to offer a small number of custom pet portrait pieces each month.

These pieces are made slowly and with care, created to hold both your pet’s ashes and their memory in a meaningful way.
Because each urn is completely custom, I work through a reservation system.
Below is all the information you need to know before placing an order for a custom pet portrait urn.

1. Reserve a Spot
Purchase a Memorial Urn Reservation to secure your place in my queue. Spots are limited each month.2. Share Your Pet’s Story
After reserving, you’ll receive a form where you can share photos, details, and anything you’d like me to know about your pet. You can be as simple or as detailed as you want.3. Final Design + Pricing
Once I review your form, I’ll reach out with a clear design direction and final price based on size and any custom details.
Your reservation fee will go toward the total.4. I Create Your Piece
Each urn is handmade, painted, and fired in my studio. No two pieces are the same.5. Delivery
Your urn will be carefully packaged and shipped to you once it’s complete. -
Pricing depends on your pet’s size and the level of detail you’d like.
Base pricing includes the urn and one hand-painted portrait:
Cats & Small Pets (0–20 lbs): $300–$325
Medium Dogs (21–50 lbs): $375–$425
Large Dogs (51–80 lbs): $425–$475
Extra Large Dogs (81–110 lbs): $500–$550
Giant Dogs (110+ lbs): $575+
Additional elements like names, backgrounds, or sculptural details can be added and will adjust the final price.

Clay is a slow process, and each piece goes through multiple stages of drying and firing. I’ll keep you updated along the way.

Made to order
Ready to ship in 4-6 weeks so long as the making process goes smoothly (could take up to 8 weeks so please plan for possible delays)
Email me at mushroommaidenpottery@gmail.com with your name, order number and a photo of your pet immediately after purchasing your mug. Please send at least two photos of each pet (and let me know which photo you would prefer the portrait to be modeled after) The clearer the photos, the better for getting all the details right.
You may choose to have 1-3 pets on a single mug. A single portrait is $175, two pets on a mug is $225, and three pets on a mug is $275 (Shipping included)
(Each portrait is hand drawn/painted and the price reflects the amount of time spent crafting the likeness of your pet)
You may choose from any of the glaze colors I have available at the time of purchase. I will email you the glaze color options if they are different than the ones pictured in the last photo of this listing or if more become available while I’m in the process of making your mug.

How to care for your mug:
Every mug is handmade and hand painted with a matte underglaze for the portraits. To ensure your mug stays looking vibrant and beautiful for a long time, I suggest hand washing your pet mugs. Try to avoid leaving your mug soaking or sitting in a dirty sink for an extended amount of time. The bare clay on the bottom of the mug and in the carved details of the portrait could absorb the food residue in your sink and stain the clay, but food residue should wash off easily in most cases. The mugs are dishwasher safe (and I was my own mug in the dishwasher) however, I still recommend hand washing because the dishwasher can be a bit harsh for handmade items like these.

all custom pet mugs are handmade to order. mugs are subject to slight variation in size, shape and color and minor visual/glaze flaws may occur but are not likely. Delays are possible if kiln failure occurs, in which case mugs will need to be remade and I will reach out to let you know.
